While there is no designated garden area, there is a bench to the front, where you can sit with a warm cup of tea and simply delight in the hillside views. Travel towards the picturesque Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), boasting natural caves, dramatic landscapes, historic castles and museums for an action-packed day in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. There are a number of nearby lakes, with opportunities for fishing and other watersporting activities, whilst the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) offers jaw-dropping waterfalls and avid kayakers. The area is perfect for cyclists with many different cycle routes on offer. For a spot of history, venture towards Margam Castle, a 19th century, Tudor, Gothic mansion designed by architect Thomas Hopper, whilst the Margam Country Park is also within driving distance. River Cottage provides a wonderful base for couples looking to explore this southern region of Wales.
