The medieval Scarborough Castle rests on the site of an ancient stronghold and has panoramic views across the coast. Further afield is the historic seaside town of Whitby with the opportunity to visit Whitby Abbey, Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the 199 steps, as well as Whitby beach.
