Teign Cottage is a pretty detached cottage just a short stroll from the Teign estuary and slipway and within a level walk of the village of Shaldon. Arranged over two floors is cottage is a perfect spot for a family getaway in a beautiful seaside village. To the front of the cottage there is an enclosed terrace which is perfect for watching the world go by whilst enjoying an alfresco meal in the warmer weather. Inside a comfy sitting room complete with electric flame effect fire is a lovely relaxing space to hunker down after a full day exploring. Across the hall is the bright kitchen/dining room brimming with character along with a breakfast table to sit round and plan your next adventure. Up a steep and winding flight of stairs is the first floor with two cosy bedrooms, a twin and a double with river views plus there’s a neat bathroom.
Shaldon is compact in size but packs a range of shops and pubs, explore the small Zoo or venture through the smugglers tunnel to discover Ness Cove. Alternatively hop on the pedestrian ferry to Teignmouth (or travel via the road bridge), a regency town and busy port, to discover the pier, tennis courts and other seaside attractions. Further afield the coastal town of Torquay (7 miles) or the cathedral city of Exeter (15 miles) offer a more big town experience and each can easily be reached via the mainline railway station in Teignmouth.
