Carry the conversation in the sitting room where you can sink into the plush sofas and flick on the woodburning stove, or on a balmy day throw open the patio doors to allow a seamless transition to the outside. At the end of each fun-filled day, retire to either of the bedrooms with its crisp and clean linens being perfect for a relaxing evening with a good book, as well as there being ample storage for all your walking gear and more. Begin each day in the family bathroom with a refreshing shower or return here in the evening and set the temperature for a soothing bath. To complete this charming dwelling there is a lovely patio area which catches the sun all afternoon and evening with a table, chairs and a stone bench to relax on. Windermere village can be found just a short walk uphill and has an abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants, whereas Bowness is a similar distance downhill and offers plenty more amenities including a cinema, Lake Cruises and a miniature golf course, so there’s no need to use the car on a daily basis. There are also many walks that can be enjoyed from the door including School Knot and Orrest Head which are rewarded with staggering views over the lakes and fells in the distance. Be sure to visit the National Trust owned Hill Top, which was once the home of Beatrix Potter, it now offers visitors a chance to see the 17th-century farmhouse where you can learn more about the author’s life with wonderful references throughout. In reach of Kendal, Coniston and beyond, MyInbeck is a delightful escape at any time of year.
