    More Information

Sarah Magees is a delightful, detached cottage found just outside the centre of the lakeside village of Garrsion, resting in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Offering five guests, or six with the use of the day bed, a lovely setting to call home when not out exploring the amazing landscape, with Lough Melvin on your doorstep and easy access to the likes of Sligo, Donegal and Enniskillen. Following a day of fishing on the lakes or louchs, come in through the rear door to enter the utility area, perfect for leaving any wet clothing or storing fishing gear, with a washing machine and freezer here, and a door leading to the ground-floor wet room. Continue into the homely open-plan living space where a fitted kitchen, a dining area and charming sitting area all rest, with everything you need to rustle up and enjoy tasty treats including an electric oven and hob, and a large oil range to keep you warm. Head through to the sitting room where a suite of sofas offer plush seating to unwind on, with a large TV to entertain and an open fire, perfect for cooler evenings. Head upstairs to find your sleeping spot, with three rooms to choose from including a king-size with day bed, a double and a single. A bathroom also rests on the first floor so you can end the day with a relaxing soak. Spend time out in the lovely, enclosed garden in the warmer months, with outdoor furniture for alfresco dining and a sheltered outlook. The village of Garrison lies just a mile down the road where you can find the local shop and two excellent pubs, so all your self-catered needs can be met nearby, with the pretty Roogagh Waterfall offering a beautiful sight each time you pass it. Make the most of being close to the picturesque Lough Melvin, with boat hire available so you can row out onto the lake, whether simply to enjoy the scenery or a spot of fishing, with the lake famous for its trout fishing and served by a handy tackle shop in the village. The wonderfully quiet roads in this area are any cyclist’s dream, with keen riders sure to love long, scenic cycles throughout the gorgeous countryside. Pull on your walking boots for plenty of walking and hiking, incorporating some natural beauty spots into your route like Fowley’s Falls, admiring the cascading waters as they make their way down to Leitrim Organic Centre where treats await in the grass roof café. Drive out to Bundoran, the surf capital of Ireland, to surf the wild Atlantic waves, with Donegal Adventure Centre & Surf School offering everything from surfing lessons to kayaking, archery, zip wires, high ropes and much more! Venture down to the town of Enniskillen to enjoy a wonderful selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, paying a visit to the 18th century National Trust estate of Castle Coole, wandering around the 600-year-old Enniskillen Castle, and browsing the charming collection of craft workshops and studios known as The Buttermarket. Head out on an exciting boat trip for the day on Lough Erne on an old-fashioned waterbus, with panoramic views to enjoy as you sail along the picturesque waters. Lough Navar Forest drive takes you to the top of the Magho Cliffs. At the Cliffs of Magho viewpoint where the vast waters of Lough Erne, 230m below, stretch east and west. Small boats cruise among the arboreal islands and, on a clear spring day, the subtle outlines of Blue Stack Mountains and Donegal Bay. Within reach of Sligo where even more adventure awaits too, Sarah Magees is a perfect place to plan your epic escape to Northern Ireland.
