The warm and cosy sitting room has a magnificent traditional range open fire and is a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the area. A separate dining room which includes a piano features a fabulous stone arched inglenook. A well-equipped kitchen with both Aga and electric cookers contains a small dining area.
    A real home-from-home, this cottage provides a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy a relaxing holiday in a picturesque area.
    The enclosed rear garden offers beautiful views of the Rawthey Valley with a table to dine outdoors and a stone barbecue. A small stream flows through the garden to add further to the charm and attraction of this lovely holiday retreat.
    Enjoy an unpolluted night sky full of stars on clear nights.
    A wealth of wildlife is commonly seen from red squirrel to abundant birdlife and bats. It is not uncommon to see a buzzard soaring overhead or a pheasant pecking around outside looking for food. More rarely the magnificent heron can be seen wading in the nearby beck. Early risers may be rewarded with the sighting of a deer.
    Sit outdoors and hear the sound of the curlew flying overhead whilst in the evening listen to tawney owls talking to each other.
    This cottage is a walker’s delight with access to a hundred square miles of open fell, nearby footpaths will lead you to stunning, hidden waterfalls and tiny becks, while across the valley is an amazing limestone pavement to discover.
    Fabulous walks in the Howgills or Wild Boar Fell and others can be made from the door.
    If it rains then the Aga is always comfortingly there on your return to dry things out.
    Situated within the newly extended Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is a superb base from which to explore the area. The Lake District is about 20 miles away.
