    More Information

Nestled in the heart of Hayfield and just outside of the Peak District National Park, is this historic cottage, The Cottage. The dwelling dates back to the 17th Century and retains many of its original features, from mullian-style windows to exposed beams, with easy access to amenities and easy access to the many towns dotted throughout the Park; making for a fabulous home-from-home accommodating four people. After marvelling at the beautiful, stone-built village of Hayfield, park your vehicle in the handy off-road parking space and stretch your legs in the quaint, enclosed front patio. Enter the attractive property to be dazzled by a rustic sitting room that boasts a toasty gas stove (fuel paid by owner – not visitor) and Smart TV, along with ample seating for you to relax on. Continue on to the charming kitchen/diner, a space featuring wooden furnishings and fittings, along with fantastic appliances for you to make your favourite meals with. After the chef of the group has cooked up a tasty dinner, gather your group at the nearby dining table and catch up about your Peaks escapades over a glass of wine. In the evening, make your way up to an appealing double bedroom with views out to the Pack Horse Gastro Pub, and the twin room overlooking the River Sett. The first-floor bathroom consists of attractive blue tiling and all the essentials you need to prep for the day, including a bath with shower over; an additional cloakroom can be found downstairs, for extra convenience. The rear patio is secure for pets, allowing your furry friends to stretch their legs while you enjoy a cold beverage with friends on the sunny patio. Make the most of the property’s fabulous location and enjoy delicious meals at the Pack Horse pub that is only across the road, embark on the Sett Valley trail and go birdwatching in the nearby Bluebell Wood Nature Reserve. Make your way into the Peak District National Park and walk the beaten path to the mystical Mermaid’s Pool, climb the peak of Kinder Scout and hike or cycle the extensive Jacob’s Ladder trail. Chapel-en-le-Firth is home to the renowned Hidden trails, waiting to be explored, along with the Memorial Park where you can enjoy a picnic, or visit the golf club for a game. Buxton is a great day out, wander through the Pavillion Gardens, view the artwork at The Green Man Gallery and explore Poole’s Cavern.
