The royal and historic town of Caernarfon is only five miles away; its medieval castle is definitely worth a visit and makes for an interesting day out. Within a 15 minute drive you will find the foothills of Eryri (Snowdonia) and from here you can access footpaths to the very summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). For something a little more relaxing take the Snowdon Mountain Railway in Llanberis, which steadily climbs almost to the doorstep of the stunning Hafod Eryri Visitor Centre or take a walk around Llanberis lake.
