The market town of Leyburn is nearby for classic British fare at historic, traditional pubs or stop off in Harmby to visit the idyllic Harmby Waterfall. Further north lies Richmond, sure to please budding historians with Richmond Castle overlooking the Dales, as well as The Green Howards Museum, Friary Gardens and The Station, a community hub with a restaurant, bar, artisan food market, cinema, and gallery. Just outside of Richmond are the ruins of Easby Abbey, one of the best-preserved monasteries; be sure to pack a picnic to enjoy the picturesque countryside along the River Swale! If you’ve come to escape the hustle and bustle, the Yorkshire Dales invite you to lose yourself in its scenic landscapes, by foot or bike; in Wensleydale, you’ll find a number of beautiful waterfalls, the bustling town of Hawes and Jervaulx Abbey, on the edge of Nidderdale AONB.
