    More Information

Ulverston 1.5 miles. Sitting just outside of Ulverston in the Cumbrian countryside is this beautiful barn-conversion, The Old Rookery. Retaining much of its character with a woodburning stove and exposed brickwork, this pet-friendly dwelling makes a fantastic base for family and friends gathering in the Lake district. Leave your vehicle in an off-road parking space before exploring your contemporary holiday home, where you will be welcomed by a bright entrance hallway to leave your walking boots. The ground floor hosts three bright bedrooms, ideal for those with limited mobility, so unload your luggage into either one of two doubles or the twin bedroom. Venture upstairs to the first floor to find the kitchen/diner; here the chef of the group can make use of the electric range cooker and gas hob to prepare delicious meals. Settle down at the dining table and admire the warmth of the woodburning stove or if the sun is shining, venture outside onto the terrace with a glass of wine in hand. The garden is home to a pond with plenty of fish, so kick-back and savour the rural setting. When the evening cools, retire inside, and gather in the sitting room to catch-up on the day’s adventures or unwind in the snug with a large Smart TV for a movie marathon. When eyes grow tired, either climb back down to the ground floor for a hot rinse in the shower room or enjoy a soak in the tub in the first-floor bathroom. All bathrooms offer a mirror with WiFi for a finishing touch and if you wish to have your own en-suite, venture up to the second floor to discover a lovely king-size bedroom. Awaken with a steaming cup of coffee on the terrace to absorb your rural location, as breakfast is being prepared and plans are being made for the day ahead. A scenic car journey will lead you into the heart of Ulverston, dotted with independent cafes and shops, as well as rustic pubs with roaring fires to enjoy a crisp pint. Bring along your clubs to test your swing at Ulverston Golf Club or pack a picnic for an afternoon at Urswick Park. Visit the bustling Bowness-on-Windermere to relive your childhood at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, or if that’s not for you, join in exciting watersports on Lake Windermere, such as sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. For a holiday like no other, escape to The Old Rookery.
