St Merryn 2.3 miles. Perfectly located for exploring the beautiful and dramatic north Cornish coast is this tastefully furnished lodge, Chalet 216. With a superb collection of some of the finest beaches in Cornwall all within a short drive, families, a couple and beach lovers alike will be spoilt for choice. Step into the open-plan living space which offers a real homely feel and a sofa giving ample room for all the family to sit around and relax after a memorable day walking the stunning coastal path or a lazy day on your choice of beach. Whip up your meals in the kitchen area to enjoy as you plan a day of adventures. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin situated next to the bathroom, so you can rest your head after a busy day or indulge in a leisurely soak. Spend your mornings on the decking with a steaming cup of coffee in hand, or perhaps dine al fresco in the warmer evenings as a family. There’s a definite nautical feel to the place, with its fishing blue colour scheme and the harbourside town of Padstow within easy reach. Padstow is home to boats and old-fashioned pubs, along with Pentire Point which is a big draw, as is the National Lobster Hatchery so there is something for all ages. If you’re after a bit of excitement, take a boat trip from the harbour – there are some great spots to explore along the coastline; if you’re feeling active, the Camel Trail is a great way to see the area on two wheels. Further afield you can venture into the popular surfing town of Newquay; the vibrant town is teeming with attractions, shops, restaurants, and pubs, from the Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium to the Pirate’s Quest Adventure Golf Course, ideal for a day out with the kids. Closer to home, the site offers plenty of activities for the children, a play park, classic arcade games, and for the adults, a bar and restaurant with tasty homemade food. Chalet 216 makes a fantastic escape to beautiful Cornwall.
