Throw open the patio doors on a summers’ day to bring the outside in and enjoy the warmth of the charming woodburning stove on those cooler evenings. The local area has an award-winning gastro pub the Cholmeley Arms, should you fancy stopping off for a refreshing drink, whilst the Woodhouse Pub is within walking distance and offers delicious meals; the next village along provides a convenience store amongst other amenities. Travel a short way to Corby Glenn, where two lovely cafes, March Hare and Lavender Hut await; be sure to sample a tasty treat at one of these! If you want to travel further afield, Grantham offers a service rail to Kings-cross London in just under one hour. The further surrounding area has much to be explored including historic properties such as Belton House and Grimsthorpe Castle, gentle walks in abundance and a wealth of culture waiting to be discovered in the city of Peterborough. Rutland Water Nature Reserve is close by, as well as the pretty market town of Oakham and Stamford, which offers passageways, market squares and the high street with something to suit everyone, Stamford is also home to Burghley House. If you’re after a day out in the city, London and Nottingham can be easily reached via train from Grantham.
