The historic town of Faversham is also a short drive away; here you can spend the day roaming its cobbled streets which house a market three times a week and a variety of independent shops and cafes, marvel at the stunning heritage building Maison Dieu, stroll along the Standard Quay or brush up on local history at Faversham Stone Chapel. History enthusiasts, looking to immerse themselves in the past should head to Canterbury, famed for its pilgrimage, where they can visit The Crooked House, Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey; there are even guided boat tours focusing on historic and literary sites!
