Marina View is an elegant detached house resting on the outskirts of Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, it’s elevated position boasts glimpses of the lake and to the mountains beyond, a pretty multi-level garden frames the property and a short walk will take you to the shores of the majestic lake Windermere. Step inside and find a well-presented kitchen, where you can prepare family favourites using the electric oven and hob, before gathering in the separate dining room to share stories over an unhurried supper. There is an inviting sitting room that offers plenty of space for your group to spread out; perhaps settle in front of a film on the Smart TV or enjoy board games and conversation. There is also a ground-floor king-size bedroom and a sleek shower room on this level, ideal for guests who prefer to stay close to the main living spaces. Upstairs, a super-king-size bedroom with its own en-suite walk-in shower room offers an appealing retreat, joined by a further king-size bedroom and a generous family room with a double and a single bed, giving flexible sleeping for families or friends travelling together. A stylish bathroom with a jacuzzi bath invites you to sink into the bubbles after a day by the water, while a first-floor study provides a tucked-away corner for reading or planning the next adventure. Located just a short stroll from the heart of Bowness on Windermere, Marina View places you within easy reach of some of the Lake District’s most popular attractions and walks from your doorstep, Brant Fell and Biskey Howe offer low level walks with panoramic views of the beautiful lake. Across the road is Windermere Marina Village which has a bar and restaurant open to the public, a superb spot to relax with a coffee before heading to the car ferry nearby, at the marina you can hire a private boat charter along with wakesurfing experiences for the ultimate lake based adventure. The car ferry provides easy access to ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter and further on to Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages, footpaths from this side of the lake lead to Claife Heights and Wray Castle – a noted beauty spot and the path is popular with cyclists. For something more special, head up the road to Henrock at Linthwaite House Hotel for a three-course meal you won’t forget. Take the lakeside walk into Bowness on Windermere where you will find many more choices of restaurants, shops, cafes and bars. For more adventures on the water, Windermere Lake Cruises offers scenic voyages that glide between Bowness, Ambleside, and Lakeside, perfect for taking in the surrounding fells.
