The property has been renovated to a high standard, whilst still managing to retain some original stone walls in the snug to add a wealth of character. Be welcomed into a sitting room which has been lovingly decorated with a feature colourful wall and has plenty of seating for curling up with your loved one and unwinding in front of the 42″ TV. Walk through to the open-plan kitchen/diner, where you will find all the necessary appliances for rustling up some delicious meals and this home also benefits from a washer/dryer, so you don’t have to bring your whole wardrobe with you during your stay. Gin lovers will delight in visiting this property’s snug room, which the owners have renovated into ‘The Gin Room’ and is the most characterful part of the cottage with its stone walls and sheepskin day bed. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the king-size bedroom which has its own woodburning stove for those colder evenings, as well as a TV so you don’t have to move to watch your favourite morning shows whilst relaxing in the soft Egyptian cotton bedding. There is a bathroom with the choice of a bath or shower over and benefiting from Egyptian cotton towels and underfloor heating. To the rear of the cottage, there is a private decking area which comes with outdoor furniture, meaning you can dine alfresco or simply enjoy a refreshing drink as the sun sets. Guests are welcome to use the owner’s hot tub during their stay, adding a spot of luxury to your romantic getaway. Situated in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, you can explore the rolling countryside either by walking or hiking, perfect to take your dogs along to stretch their legs. This area is also popular for cyclists and is an easy drive to Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder Forest. Make sure you get involved with some water sports at any one of the nearby lakes and rivers. The village of Bellingham comes with its very own golf course, ideal for beginners and professionals alike. Petty Knowes Cottage is an excellent choice for a relaxing holiday any time of the year.
