    More Information

Heathcliff Cottage is a traditional stone-built retreat set right in the heart of Haworth, West Yorkshire, offering a wonderful place to stay for families or friends keen to experience this historic village and its surrounding countryside. Arranged across three floors, the cottage blends period character with modern touches, creating a welcoming base for exploring the landscapes and literary heritage of the Brontë country. Step inside and you’re greeted by a ground-floor sitting room where two leather Chesterfield sofas invite you to settle in and slow the pace. The multi-fuel stove sits within a striking stone fireplace and becomes a natural focal point on cooler evenings, making it an ideal space to unwind after a day spent on the moors or wandering Haworth’s cobbled streets. To the rear, the country-style kitchen is both practical and sociable, with white wooden cupboards, a gas range cooker and a solid pine dining table seating six.
It’s a space designed for shared meals, leisurely breakfasts and long conversations over dinner, whether you’re cooking together or planning the next day’s adventures. Up on the first floor, you’ll find two well-presented double bedrooms, each offering a lovely place to rest at the end of the day. This level also features a newly fitted bathroom with both a freestanding slipper bath and a corner shower, giving you flexibility whether you prefer a long soak or a refreshing start to the morning. The second-floor reveals a further double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, offering a peaceful retreat and a welcome sense of privacy. As a thoughtful nod to the cottage’s literary surroundings, this bedroom features a striking Wuthering Heights wall, adding a distinctive and fitting touch. As you step outside, Haworth unfolds around you. The village is rich in atmosphere, with its famous Main Street, independent shops, cafés and pubs all within easy reach. The surrounding Brontë Country moors lie within walking distance, including Top Withens, the dramatic ruin believed to have inspired Wuthering Heights. A visit to the Brontë Parsonage Museum offers insight into the lives of the literary family, while the open moorland delivers the stark landscapes that shaped their writing. Hebden Bridge is around 20 minutes away, accessible by a bus stop nearby, offering a wider choice of shops, markets, a cinema, bars and places to eat, and is easily reached by bus, with a stop practically on the doorstep. Further afield, Halifax is home to the Piece Hall, Eureka! The National Children’s Museum and Shibden Hall, while Bradford offers the National Science and Media Museum, Cartwright Hall Art Gallery and the Alhambra Theatre. Reflecting its setting, Heathcliff Cottage has been carefully curated with a Brontë theme by Brontë experts, creating a fitting base for exploring one of Yorkshire’s most evocative and literary landscapes.
