From here, head over to Alnwick where you can visit Alnwick Castle, local gardens, and plenty of quirky shops, including Barter Books café and book shop. The Northumberland Coast Path creates a winding track from which you can indulge in seaside views and pretty beaches, whilst the Northumberland National Park is within reach. Further afield, discover Bamburgh with its castle and beach, and beyond that, Holy Island with the renowned Lindisfarne Castle, Priory, museum about local history, and nature reserve.
