Shepherds Hut at East Hill Pride is set on a working fruit farm just outside Sidmouth, this characterful shepherd’s hut offers a wonderfully rustic escape, with sweeping views across the orchards and out towards Dartmoor. Positioned on a small, friendly site, it’s a lovely place to slow down and enjoy a simpler pace of life. Inside, the hut is laid out as a cosy studio space, combining a comfortable double bed, compact kitchen, dining area and a small sitting space. Full of rustic charm, it’s well-suited to relaxed, easy living. A short walk from the hut, you’ll find your own private shower room, exclusively for your use, not shared, fitted with a walk‑in shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. Outside, there’s plenty of space to make the most of the setting. A table and chairs provide the perfect spot for outdoor dining, while the fire pit invites you to unwind in the evenings, all while taking in the far‑reaching countryside views.
Guests also benefit from the on-site farm shop, offering a range of local produce and refreshments, along with tea rooms serving breakfasts and classic cream teas, ideal for those days when you’d rather not cook. With countryside walks on the doorstep and the coast within easy reach, the location offers the best of both worlds. Sidmouth itself is a much-loved Regency seaside town, known for its elegant seafront, red sandstone cliffs and wide, pebbled beach. Stroll along the Esplanade, take in the views from Connaught Gardens, or explore the independent shops, cafés and restaurants that give the town its relaxed, welcoming feel. The surrounding area also offers plenty to discover, from riverside walks along The Byes to coastal trails along the South West Coast Path. For days out, visit the ever-popular Donkey Sanctuary just outside Sidmouth, or head to the picturesque fishing village of Beer, with its sheltered bay, working boats and charming streets. A peaceful and unpretentious retreat, perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings and a slower way of life.
