Wensleydale is one of the most beautiful of the Yorkshire Dales and there are fabulous walks from the doorstep, including past Hardraw Force, England’s highest unbroken waterfall, and the Pennine Way, which passes through the paddock on limestone flags and down the side of the courtyard leading up to Simonstone Hall. This is a great location, from the castles at Bolton and Middleham, to nearby Hawes with its famous cheese factory and lovely market.
