    More Information

Whitby 1 mile. A delightful, end-terrace mews cottage, in a modern development just one mile from the popular historic seaside town of Whitby. Set in an elevated position above the River Esk, this Whitby cottage offers light and airy, well-equipped accommodation. The open plan living area of this Whitby cottage is tastefully furnished, with views overlooking the splendid viaduct and an archway leading to the spacious kitchen with a dining area to one end. Patio doors lead from here to a small, sunny decked area, a peaceful spot with fine views over open countryside and distant hills. Upstairs in this Whitby cottage, the bedrooms have been individually styled, with the double room boasting a balcony, ideal to sit with a glass of wine, enjoy the views and spot the steam trains trundling by! From this Whitby cottage, communal lawned grounds lead down to the riverside, which is a haven for wildlife, including seals, swans and ducks. Ideally located away from the hustle and bustle of Whitby, a short walk brings you to the centre of this atmospheric town, with its cobbled market place, narrow, quirky alleyways and fisherman’s cottages. The long, sandy beaches are fabulous for children and there is an excellent array of tea rooms, pubs, independent shops and restaurants. A must is a climb up the 199 steps up to the famous Whitby Abbey and St. Mary’s Church. The surrounding area around this Whitby cottage has a wealth of attractions to please everyone – whether it be a trip on the steam train, exploring the stunning heather clad moors, or visiting the many coastal and inland villages including Goathland (Aidensfield from Heartbeat). A superb Whitby cottage for an enjoyable holiday.
