Enjoy a walk along the Rail Trail to nearby Goathland, with the Mallyan Spout waterfall and the North York Moors Steam Railway, or follow the beck as it winds its way through the valley to the next village of Grosmont. A short drive brings you to the historic seaside port of Whitby and its long sandy beaches, narrow cobbled streets and majestic abbey perched high on the clifftop, reached by 199 ancient steps. With quaint tea rooms, independent shops and a rich array of restaurants, cafes and renowned fish and chips, it offers something for everyone.
