Our dog Bailey loved it too because the coastal paths nearby are perfect for brisk morning walks. By the end of the stay we felt properly rested, which isn’t something I can say about every family trip we’ve been on!

Sea View House in Crantock
Best for families and dog owners who want direct access to sandy beaches
Sea View House quickly became one of our go-to spring escapes. The layout gives you uninterrupted views from the upstairs living area, and the beach at Crantock is close enough for the children to run ahead. We walked the dunes every morning with Bailey and most afternoons were spent exploring the shoreline.

Best for peaceful romantic stays and long coastal walks
Ocean Edge offers that rare sense of quiet that you only get on the far edges of Cornwall. We spent long afternoons walking the coastal path and returned each evening to a warm glow of sunlight across the sea. Sitting in the garden with a glass of well-earned wine while the sky softened was one of those simple but perfect moments that you’ll want to return to.

Pebblestones in Port Isaac
Best for families and pets who want a garden with a sea facing feel
Pebblestones won our children over in the first five minutes. The enclosed garden meant they could run and play while we sat outside with a view of the harbour. We ended up doing several trips a day down to the shoreline simply because it was so close. It is one of the cottages we recommend to families who want convenience without losing the charm of the village.

Stepper Point near Polzeath
Best for coastal adventurers and dog friendly spring escapes
Stepper Point feels designed for spring. We stayed here when the weather was still cool and found ourselves reading and playing games by the fire in the evenings, and spending bright afternoons walking the coastal path to Daymer Bay. Polzeath is close enough for daily beach outings and our dog loved every minute of it.

A Personal Memory from Tides in Padstow
Our most memorable spring stay in Cornwall
Our stay at Tides in Padstow remains one of the highlights of our spring travels. We arrived to mild sunshine and watched the estuary light shift toward evening from the terrace. The next morning we cycled the Camel Trail. Most evenings ended sitting outside again watching the tide roll in. It felt like the start of summer.
