This spacious property has a well equipped kitchen which leads through to a comfortable and inviting lounge with a wood burner and unlimited logs and fuel to make for a cosy retreat in the country. With dedicated electric vehicle charging and being a predominantly solar powered cottage, Burrow Hill Cottage is ideal for those who see the value of eco-friendly holidaying.

With such close proximity to nature it is most likely that you will see Red Deer on the doorstep and in the evening hear a chorus of Owls, along with bats on the wing and enjoy amazingly clear views of the night sky. The wild flower meadow adjacent to the cottage can be a riot of colour depending on the time of year with some rare flowers, starting in spring with Blue Bells in the woodland, following on with primroses, orchids, foxgloves and campion.

Burrow Hill Cottage enjoys a peaceful 'hidden away' location but is only a short walk from the rural village of Hemyock with its convenient amenities. The location offers miles of footpaths and bridleways and has a feel of adventure and exploration with the addition of two pubs, easily reached by foot. In addition there is a small castle and the local amenities at Hemyock village means you can stock up without travelling too far. There are centuries of history to discover from Iron Age hill forts to World War II sites and famous Landmarks in between. If peace and quiet, along with stunning countryside is your thing, Burrow Hill Cottage will not disappoint you.

Outside

Large garden and deck area with outdoor dining table and chairs and use of a gas barbecue. The large garden is laid mainly to grass with trees and the surrounding fields for guest use as well. The local area

The attractive market town of Honiton has long been famous for lace making and pottery, however today it is more well-known for its twice weekly market, antique shops specialising in furniture, art and second-hand books, and abundance of independent shops, galleries and cafés that fill this vibrant town.

Sandwiched between the East Devon and Blackdown Hills Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and within easy reach of the Dorset AONB, Dartmoor, and Exmoor, Honiton is the ideal spot from which to explore the rich and varied natural landscape of East Devon and neighbouring Dorset.

The seaside towns of Seaton, Beer and Lyme Regis are just a short drive away, where the stunning World Heritage Jurassic Coastline can be enjoyed. Just 20 minutes by car from Honiton, Seaton is a gateway to the Jurassic Coast, and a great spot for water sports, fishing, and many other traditional seaside activities, including viewing the magnificent coastline from the cliffs on the ever-popular South West Coast Path.

Meanwhile, 25 minutes away you'll find the traditional seaside town of Lyme Regis, home to the family-friendly Lyme Regis Museum, and a fantastic place to hunt for fossils, enjoy the beach, stroll along the famous Cobb, or treat yourself to a meal at one of the many bars, cafés and restaurants that line the seafront promenade.

A holiday cottage in Honiton provides a picturesque base from which to explore the many rural and coastal delights of East Devon and neighbouring Dorset.
