Tucked away, just off the main seafront in St Mawes is the Sail Loft. This gorgeous sleeps 5 property is set out over two floors with 3 bedrooms and comes complete with the most wonderful sea views from the decked balcony in its very own secluded and private back garden.
Literally on the water, properties like the Sail Loft situated just off Marine Parade can boast a very convenient position to access the village amenities and harbour. For sailing enthusiasts, there are an array of options available to enjoy from the harbour including private boat hire and of course boat and sailing trips/cruises.
The Sail Loft provides very comfortable, stylish accommodation as well as the most super outside space which includes a large Cornish stone patio and elevated decked terrace area with views of the sea.
St Mawes has a selection of small south facing beaches and a popular sailing club with temporary membership available. The world renowned Hotel Tresanton is just up the road with its fabulous restaurant open to non residents (advance booking recommended).
A regular passenger ferry service operates to Falmouth, and another crosses the Percuil River to St Anthony and runs in the summer months.
The 15th Century St Mawes Castle standing in a sub tropical garden is close by and there are also lovely waterside paths following the banks of the estuary which eventually reach the picturesque church at St Just in Roseland.

A number of stone steps lead up to two lawn areas with mature shrubs and Cornish palms. A further set of steps then lead up to the wooden, decked balcony from which lovely views can be enjoyed.
The local area
There is always something going on when you holiday in St Mawes, whether that be the constant stream of boats in and out the bustling harbour, the synonymous seaside squawking of seagulls or a bustling high-street full of locals and visitors stocking up on local produce and artisan fayre.
Located on the stunning Roseland Peninsula, St Mawes is bordered by three outstanding beaches, all of which make for a great day out. Dog-friendly Idles Beach means you can enjoy your holiday with the company of your pooch, and our dog-friendly properties make the perfect pairing. The southern Cornish coastline boasts some dazzlingly pretty sunbathing spots, so grab your towel and lay on the sand with the sea lapping at the shore as your soundtrack.
History buffs should head to St Mawes Castle. It’s one of the best-preserved artillery fortresses from the rule of Henry VIII. Enjoy an audio tour before heading outside for far-reaching views over the River Fal. St Anthony’s Lighthouse, a short drive away, sits at the eastern entrance to Falmouth harbour. Some youngsters from the eighties may recognise it, as it featured in the much children’s hit TV series Fraggle Rock.
While on holiday in St Mawes indulge in one of the award-winning restaurants dotted around the town, many only a short walk away from our holiday homes. Sample traditional Cornish fayre including fishy favourites, home-made pasties and cream teas. Cuddle up in a window seat or a bloom-filled garden with family and friends and enjoy the sunshine and mild climate this part of Britain is so famous for.
If you’re looking for more adrenaline-fuelled holiday antics, local providers hire out canoes and kayaks. With paddles in hand, set off along sheltered rivers or challenge yourself to navigate the Fal Estuary – which is no mean feat! Those wanting to stay dry can board the local ferry across the swirling River Fal, past a coastline of colourful thatched cottages and head over to Falmouth for the day.
A holiday in St Mawes is for everyone. There’s such a large variety of things to do to tailor your getaway to match the pace you want. Take the days slowly and spend time exploring at your leisure or wake up early and race through your day, you’ll never run out of things to do.

Long stay parking is available using the St Mawes central pay and display car park located just behind the Rising Sun pub and is just a five minute walk to your accommodation.
