Uploders is a pretty village in the heart of stunning countryside. This is an ideal base from which to explore the Jurassic Coast and all it has to offer. West Bay which featured on the TV drama Broadchurch is only five miles away and the spectacular World Heritage Coastline is within easy driving distance. Lyme Regis and Charmouth (famous for fossils), Abbotsbury, and the county town of Dorchester a short drive away and the lively market town of Bridport with it's an array of eclectic shops, art deco cinema, Arts Centre and every Wednesday and Saturday the famous street market selling artisan food and bric-a-brac
For those who love walks and nature you could not be in a better place with walks in every direction, Head to Eggardon Hill which lies about 1.5 miles south-east of the village. On the summit is a 14-hectare Iron Age Hill Fort with amazing views of Dorset AONB & Lyme Bay, or discover the ancient woodland of Powerstock Common. Circular walks from Powerstock takes in large sections of disused railway line, ideal for cycling.
The Spyway Inn offers good Dorset food and is within close walking distance of the property. Two further country pubs are reachable via pleasant walks through the countryside, The Crown and The Marquis of Lorne.

The charming, sleepy Dorset village of Loders is found a couple of miles north-east of Bridport nestled in the folds of the Powerstock Hills. Pretty thatched cottages with rose filled gardens hug the quiet country road that runs along the valley forged by the River Asker, along with a primary school, historic 12th century church and a choice of two excellent pubs where the food is good and visitors are made very welcome.

Bridport’s picturesque harbour at West Bay opens up Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast known for its towering cliffs, stunning scenery and endless beaches teeming with fossils. Here you can try a new water sport, take a walk with an experienced fossil hunting guide, blow away the cobwebs on the South West Coast Path or simply spend a lazy day on the beach with a picnic.
