The dining room is separated from the living room by long wooden beams, that showcase the traditional design of this admirable property. Also located on the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook a lovely meal after a day out exploring. Upstairs you will find two spacious bedrooms, the master bedroom having a super king-size bed and the second room having a double bed. Throughout all of the windows you have picture-perfect views looking towards the mountain ranges that flood Wales, helping make the break as tranquil as possible. The enclosed garden has been designed excellently with detailed features that show how much effort has been put into this home. Towards the back of the garden lies a garden room with beautiful views looking at mountains fading into the horizon. If you’re looking for something to do, the cottage runs adjacent to stables where you can go on pony trekking from May through to September. Alternatively, the local bustling market town of Rhayader is one mile away where you can sit and enjoy its restaurants and cafés or for those feeling active, venture just 150 yards to the Elan and Claerwen Valley, where you will find miles of walking routes amid breath-taking scenery, as well as cycling in the Elan Valley. If you fancy a complete change of scene, less than an hour’s drive away you can visit the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth on the West Wales coast or take a day trip further north to the National Trust property of Powis Castle, a medieval castle, providing a dramatic backdrop for its celebrated gardens. Penlone Cottage provides an exceptional base for friends or families looking to explore this rural part of mid-Wales.
