There are lots of things to see and do, including the breathtaking High Force, England’s highest waterfall, and a wealth of history waiting to be discovered at the fantastic Raby Castle, whilst the stunning Witham Hall, in the centre of Barnard Castle, and Egglestone Abbey, an abandoned monastery on the banks of the River Tees, both sit just outside the town. Within short drives are the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the historic North Yorkshire market towns of Richmond and Ripon, the Stang Forest, the Northern Dales town of Reeth, the city of Durham, and even the Lake District, making this excellent property a superb base for touring the many delights of this historic area.
