Outside, a delightful patio area with water feature provides a lovely spot for a relaxing drink or perhaps some alfresco dining under the covered veranda which is a perfect escape from any showers while still enjoying the fresh air. Great Longstone is an attractive limestone village set around a pretty village green. There are two olde-worlde pubs, which offer good pub food and real ales, where you can enjoy a bite to eat and rest your walking legs with a well-earned drink at the end of the day. The spectacular Monsal Trail, an 8.5 mile former railway line, now a traffic free track for cyclists or walkers taking in the stunning surrounding countryside, is just on your doorstep. The lovely market town of Bakewell is a short drive away or you could walk or cycle via the Monsal Trail. Historic houses including Chatsworth house, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are just a short car journey away, making this cosy holiday home a lovely retreat at any time of the year.
