Woodbine Cottage is a charming and cosy retreat in the sleepy hamlet of West Torrington, three miles from the small town of Wragby in Lincolnshire. The cottage would have an amazing tale to tell if it could speak as it dates back to the 16th century when the world was a completely different place to the one we know today. Constructed of local materials known as mud and stud and supported by beautiful beams taken from ships’ timbers, the cottage has been beautifully restored weaving the delightful, traditional build with modern conveniences of the 21st century. This welcoming holiday home is over three floors and has three bedrooms, two on the first floor and one an attic room on the second floor. Theres a bathroom on the first floor, and on the ground are an open plan living area with a warming woodburning stove and a sun room that doubles as a utility. Walks and cycling are available in the immediate area and fishing lakes are nearby. The small town of Wragby is close by and has pubs, a fish and chip shop, a café and a restaurant, as well as a regular bus service. Within reach is Lincoln, with its two unmissable attractions the magnificent Gothic cathedral and the castle with its Medieval wall walk, and shopping is particularly good here, especially in Upper Lincoln and at the historic Bailgate. Lincolnshire has it all – city, coast and countryside, with this delightful cottage an ideal base to visit the county.
