To the west, the largely undiscovered Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers a wide range of unspoilt landscapes to explore. The local area has an abundance of caves and waterfalls, while the Settle-Carlisle Railway is famed for being one of the country’s most scenic train journeys. With the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District within easy reach, this cottage provides a superb holiday base at any time of the year.
