    More Information

A character cottage in the village of Goulceby, seven miles from the market town of Louth, set in the Lincolnshire Wolds which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Anvil Lodge was originally a blacksmiths and still holds some of the original characters; with plenty of things to see and do, this makes a great place for families or small groups of friends to enjoy. On entry into the cottage, you are in the well-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare some home-cooked meals which can then be enjoyed in the separate dining room. There is a cosy sitting room with plenty of seating, even a rocking chair, in front of a decorative fireplace, adding to its’ original character. There are two good-sized bedrooms and a family bathroom adding to the flexibility of the property. Outside is a lawned garden; a great place for the kids to let off some steam. There is a good-sized south-facing patio with furniture, making it a nice place to relax with a glass of something cold after a full day exploring the area. The village of Goulceby is home to The Three Horseshoes, which is an independently run freehouse and campsite, with the recent addition of a village shop. With good walks and cycle routes from the door, you can explore the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds. A 15 mins’ drive away takes you to the Georgian market town of Louth with excellent shopping, including weekly market days and a vast assortment of eateries catering for all tastes, as well as Horncastle which is particularly famous for its selection of antique shops. Travel to the coast to see the seal colony at Donna Nook or visit the seaside resorts of Skegness or Mablethorpe for a great day out. Further afield is the cathedral city of Lincoln with its castle and the Magna Carta Centre. Set in stunning scenery, Anvil Lodge is a perfect cottage to enjoy at any time of the year.
