The small harbour is alive with colourful boats and has a gently sloping beach for safe bathing. For that ‘wow’ factor and within a half hours drive, visit the granite cliffs and Mediterranean blue waters at Porthcurno Beach or the romance and drama of the open air theatre at Minack, carved from the granite cliff face and jutting precariously into the sea. Penzance and Newlyn are a short drive or bus ride away, and St Michael’s Mount is the jewel in Cornwall’s crown, perched opposite the long stretch of sandy beach at Marazion.
