The land surrounding Back of Beyond is quite stunning; mysterious, windswept moorland peppered with gorse, engine house ruins and ancient stone circles and quoits. It would be easy to spend a week cosied up in this little refuge, but if you choose to venture further, there is much to see and do in the local area. For a truly unique experience, don’t miss the open-air Minack Theatre, carved into the cliff face by local landowner Rowena Cade in the early 1930s. Captivating St Michaels Mount is just a short drive away, and Lands End with its iconic signpost is also within easy reach. Lovers of good food and drink should also be sure to visit the Gurnards Head gastro-pub, just a short stroll from the barn.
