This Victorian stone cottage, built in 1874 and believed to be commissioned by the Churchills to replace the original Alms houses on the site, is situated in the beautiful market town of Woodstock in the Cotswolds, overlooking Blenheim Park. This delightful cottage provides quality accommodation ideal for a romantic break or small family holiday in a picturesque location and is adjacent to the residents’ gate providing access to the Park. On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen complete with breakfast bar where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a more formal dinner can be enjoyed in the dining room looking out on to a pretty cottage garden with its garden wall overlooking Blenheim Park. After a day exploring this gorgeous historic area you can relax in the cosy sitting room, in front of the warming woodburning stove on the chilly evenings. Make your way upstairs to the two charming bedrooms while the bathroom is ideally situated on the ground floor. The enclosed cottage garden is a mix of mature borders with seating area ideal for enjoying alfresco dining on a summer’s evening. Take a stroll around Blenheim Park which is adjacent to the cottage and enjoy the stunning surrounds created by Capabililty Brown, enjoy the beautiful Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Many lovely walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of the cottage and the delightful town of Woodstock, just five-minute walk, boasts individual shops, tea rooms and many traditional pubs one of which is the historic Black Prince one minute away. A short drive takes you to many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages, the university town of Oxford as well as an abundance of National Trust properties. A perfect base for a memorable holiday at any time of year.
