Jacob’s Barn is a beautifully converted former barn, built in the early 18th century. Today it a stylish modern home which retains many original period features such as beamed ceilings and the original mill stone which now forms the centrepiece of the fountain outside. Here, you can explore the fields and streams of the six-acre farm estate and you are welcome to use the grass tennis court or simply enjoy the tranquil location from the decked seating area. Inside, the farmhouse kitchen is well equipped, and the large, comfortable lounge, off which is a games room with a table tennis, has an open fire. Upstairs, the three pretty bedrooms are full of character, with ancient exposed beams and have lovely views of the surrounding countryside. A haven for walkers, the western edge of Dartmoor is home to the National Trust’s Lydford Gorge, and Brentor.
