    More Information

The Porthole is a stylish semi detached house 150 yards from the centre of Newton Ferrers. Facing south across the river, it is excellent spacious accommodation for relaxing and enjoying the popular village. Head down the 18 steep steps (handrail) from the road and through your gate and leave your coats and boots in the porch. The kitchen is smart and bright with its granite worktops and little breakfast area for a morning croissant and the papers. With its soothing colours and polished wood floor, you can curl up and chill out beside the wood burning stove in the sitting room or open the French windows to the sunny terrace on a fine day. On this level is a bunk bedroom for the youngsters, or head up the steep narrow stairs to two more bedrooms, both with light flooding in from balconies where you can step outside and observe life on the river. As well as the two balconies, you have the little terrace for sitting out or barbecuing, peacefully sheltered by a pretty wisteria. Wander into the heart of the village to buy essentials and to eat out at the charming waterside inns, or walk further to National Trust woodland and the scenic cliff top Coast Path. If you feel like getting more active, take part in wakeboarding or paddle boarding trips, play tennis or go riding. Beaches at Mothecombe and Wembury are not to be missed, both gems on this South Devon coast. And for the city bright lights head to Plymouth for interesting history and all sorts of attractions, shops and restaurants. The Porthole is a great cottage for recharging your energy levels over a fabulous view or exploring the area.
