To enjoy the beach, you only need to wander out in wetsuits and flip-flops and you will find yourself on the big sandy Blue Flag beach where you can paddle, build sandcastles and surf or bodyboard. For surfing tuition or hire, the popular surf school at Bigbury-on-Sea is just over the little headland. If you don’t feel like cooking, you can buy fish and chips in the summer from the café or a trip to nearby Ringmore is worthwhile for an excellent meal or a pint of real ale in its friendly, characterful pub. Walkers will be in seventh heaven on the South West Coast Path or strolling across the sand to Burgh Island with its views from the ruined huers hut on the peak. 5 Beachdown is an excellent house in prime position for a fun family holiday by the sea.
