    More Information

The Captain’s House sits above the village road in Downderry, with fabulous sea views from most windows, a superb Victorian captain’s mid-terrace house over four floors. Steps lead up to a paved sun terrace and veranda where al fresco meals and sundowners can be enjoyed. Ideal for groups of friends or extended family groups. Inside, generously proportioned and renovated in traditional style with polished wood floors and muted colours: all very welcoming. The house is taller than it is wide with the living room on the second floor to take full advantage of the tremendous sea views. The dining room has a piano, and French windows to the veranda and terrace. The bespoke kitchen leads to a scullery and utility room and a shower-room and plenty of space for sandy buckets, wetsuits and boots. Stairs lead up to the first floor and three bedrooms – a king-size double, a twin, and a bunk room and the family bathroom. Further stairs up to second floor and large living room with open fire, and those lovely views, a snug and stairs up directly into a large super king-size bedroom under the eaves with the best views of all and en suite shower-room. Take a bus to Cremyll and then a foot ferry across to Plymouth and enjoy its excellent historic waterfront, shops and Theatre. The captivating and ever-changing panoramic views make this a great coastal location at any time of year. A grand base for coastal living, from days in the sun to storm-watching in the winter.
