There are some spectacular walking and cycling opportunities towards Mam Tor, a landmark hill which is a popular hiking spot and is known for its striking valleys, as well as towards the ruins of Peveril Castle, which stands high above the village. Not far away are the delightful villages of Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, Hope and Hathersage with its seasonal outdoor swimming pool. For a change of scenery, you may consider a trip to the ever-popular Alton Tower’s theme park, which is roughly an hour’s drive from the cottage.
