13 The Lakes is a delightful single-storey lodge resting within Golden Sands Holiday Park in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. Perfect for families seeking a break near the beach, this pet-friendly abode features excellent onsite facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool and climbing walls, and has serene views of a lake from the veranda. Arriving at 13 The Lakes, you pull into the private parking space and step out to the gentle sweep of water beside you, the lodge wrapped in a wide veranda that invites you to pause before even reaching the door. As you approach, you catch glimpses of the lake through the trees and the sound of families wandering toward the beach, creating a welcoming first impression that sets the tone for your stay. Inside, the open plan living space unfolds as a bright hub for family time. You might place your bags by the kitchen counter before switching on the electric fire, letting a soft glow fill the seating area as you sink into the sofa and look out toward the veranda. The kitchen offers everything you need to prepare easy meals, and it is simple to picture someone chopping ingredients while another sets the table and children drift between the TV and the games console. Mealtimes become relaxed moments around the dining table as you chat about what you will explore next, then drift to the seating area to unwind together. Moving into the double bedroom, you might place your holiday outfits into the wardrobe while a favourite show plays on the television, then step through to the en-suite basin and WC for a quiet moment to get ready for the evening. The twin rooms offer the same sense of welcome, each with a television and space to settle into your holiday rhythm. The family bathroom invites long soaks after sandy beach days, or refreshing showers before heading out again. When you return to the veranda, perhaps with a drink in hand, the furniture and outdoor sofa create the ideal spot to watch the light shift over the lake. From here it is easy to wander to the on-site facilities, where the outdoor pool sparkles during the warmer months and the indoor pool offers a relaxing alternative. Families drift between the play area, climbing walls and on-site shop and bar, giving every generation something to enjoy. A few moments’ walk takes you to the local pub and shop, while the beach sits just a gentle stroll further, the kind of walk where you gather shells and breathe in the fresh coastal air. Within an easy drive, days out unfold effortlessly. The characterful town of Louth offers traditional streets lined with independent shops and inviting cafés, where you can settle in for pastries, browse local produce and admire the skyline of St James’ Church. Further along the coast, Skegness provides classic seaside charm, with lively arcades, soft sands and the chance to wander its long promenade with an ice cream in hand. For attractions within an hour, you can venture to the Lincolnshire Wolds where rolling hills invite scenic walks, wildlife spotting and peaceful picnics among sweeping views. Nature lovers can head to Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve to follow winding paths through dunes and marshland while watching migrating birds overhead and pausing at hideouts overlooking serene waters. Families might choose Hardy’s Animal Farm where little ones can bottle feed lambs, explore spacious play areas and wander through friendly farmyard scenes that bring rural life vividly to the forefront. Return to 13 The Lakes to relax, play and spend quality time together by the water in this scenic corner of Lincolnshire.
