There is a path which takes you past the rear of the cottage into another garden area that sweeps through an arch into a further garden. The bird life at this cottage is extraordinary with everything from goldfinch and siskin to buzzard and spotted woodpecker. Swallows and house martins are regular visitors in the summer and pheasants inhabit the garden all year round. There is much to see and do in North Devon and the cottage is within easy reach of the surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. Other attractions include golf, fishing, walking and horse-riding, and Exmoor with its beautiful walks is a mere 10 miles away. Barnstaple lies at the end of the magnificent Tarka Line railway journey, an all-round memorable adventure.
