Tucked away deep within the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the centre of the picture-postcard village of Grassington, 2 The Square is an inviting, mid-terrace cottage offering a delightful base from which to explore the enchanting Yorkshire countryside. The interior has been lovingly restored whilst retaining its original charm, welcoming families, friends and couples looking to explore Grassington and the great outdoors. Step into the charming sitting room, where an alluring electric fire and ample seating encourages relaxation, here you can relax after a long day of rambles. Move into the kitchen/diner to discover a well-equipped setup, you can rustle up a home-cooked meal with the electric oven and hob, and wash and dry off any soiled clothing in the external utility room. Climb to the first floor and discover a double and a single bedroom, served by a refreshing shower room, whilst the second floor offers a twin, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for a family. During the summer months, take a sit in your private courtyard and soak up the sunshine, whilst to the front of the property is off-road parking for one car, a welcome addition given the central location of the property. Grassington is a fabulous base for a getaway, offering a range of old curiosity shops, excellent local pubs, good eating establishments and of course, the old cobbled square, just outside the cottage, where the annual Dickensian weekends are a real showstopper. How about a day at the beautiful Parcevall Hall Gardens, offering 24 acres of formal and woodland gardens, and while you’re in the area don’t miss a chance to see Stump Cross Caverns to explore the wonder of the underground caves where prehistoric fossils have been found. Cyclists can explore the off-beaten tracks within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the rest of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while those looking for a spot of history will be drawn to the 12th century fortress of Skipton Castle, or spend the day in Riddlesden at the National Trust owned East Riddlesden Hall. You could also visit the Craven Museum and Gallery, which has exhibitions showing Skipton’s history from various years and encourages guests to be interactive. 2 The Square offers a superb base for a Grassington getaway, whatever time of year.
