The seaside town of Whitley Bay itself is home to artisan bakeries, boutique shops, trendy restaurants, and a sandy beach, as well as the Whitley Bay Playhouse theatre, and a bustling promenade. Other local attractions include the Northumberland National Park with a range of scenic walks, St Mary’s Lighthouse on the remote St Mary’s Island, and the Spanish City Dome. The cottage is 33 miles from Alnwick which is an ideal location for exploring the Northumberland coast and city locations. Alternatively, visit the vibrant university city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and explore the picturesque St James’ Park, views along the River Tyne along the Quayside, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, and the Discovery Museum – not to mention the lively party scene.
