Half a mile from Mousehole, arguably the prettiest of Cornish fishing villages, are Trungle Cottages. Dating back to the 18th century, No 3 is mid-row and has been beautifully restored to become an inviting holiday home. Enter through stable doors to a bright kitchen and dining area with tiled floor, off which sliding doors lead to the cosy living room, heated by a wood burning stove set in a feature stone fireplace. From the kitchen, steep stairs lead to two bedrooms, a stylish double room and a bunk room with double and single over – they share a shower-room. At the front of the cottage is a decked seating area, ideal for ‘sundowners’ after a day of exploring the area. Number Three is in an excellent location, handy for walking the Coast Path and a five minute stroll from a pub. Just down the road, neighbouring Mousehole (pronounced ‘Mouzzle’ by the locals) has a selection of shops and good places to eat around its historic harbour. Further afield at Newlyn, you can watch the fishing fleet landing its catch, or spend a day exploring Penzance and St Michaels Mount. Take in a show at the internationally renowned Minack Theatre, a superb open air venue perched high on the cliffs, or at Lands End you’ll find fun for all the family accompanied by breathtaking sea views.
