The Blue Flag awarded, picturesque and sandy Trearddur Bay Beach, is a short walk away and is one of the most popular beaches on Anglesey, with a great array of watersports available, while slightly further up the coast is the Blue Flag awarded Porth Dafarch, a quieter cove, popular for diving and snorkelling due to its proximity to the the shipwreck of the 1886 Missouri. Immerse yourself in the area’s history by visiting the historic house and museum of Craig Y Mor, the Neolithic burial chamber of Trefignath and Tŷ Mawr Standing Stone. Walkers can join the Anglesey Coastal Path, which takes in the entire coastline of the island; head north towards Holyhead and encounter the RSPB South Stack Nature Reserve and picturesque standalone lighthouse, as well as the Iron Age hillfort of Caer y Twr, which can be found at the summit of Holyhead Mountain. Venture south towards the lovely beach of Porth Diana and its nearby Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve or tour Anglesey Sea Zoo and Plas Newydd House and Gardens before visiting several lakes for a picturesque stroll or picnic lunch.
