There is also easy access to the Teesdale Way heading either East or West. The Pot and Glass, the local village pub has three cosy rooms and a beer garden at the rear. It is traditional in nature, and very welcoming to visitors and their dogs. A number of other pubs such as the family friendly Bluebell are a short walk away. Within 2 miles you will find Preston Park, a huge open space by the river which offers woodland walks and Nature reserves. This space holds play areas, boating and a museum with an immersive Victorian style street experience; a new visitor attraction connected to the Steam Train heritage of the area. Teesside Park, which offers a huge array of shops and leisure facilities such as bowling and a multiplex cinema, is just a 15 minute drive from the property. Stockton, Darlington, Middlesbrough and Billingham are also close by for cultural and leisure activities such as theatre, concerts, swimming and ice skating. The North York Moors are on your doorstep and the Yorkshire Dales are less than an hour away. Coastal towns and villages such as Redcar, Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby are also easily accessed from Yarm.
