From here a few steps lead into a fabulous sitting room with leather sofas, exposed beams, and solid oak furniture. A glorious spot with room for everyone to relax after supper enjoyed in one of the many local pubs and restaurants or prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. A house bathroom is on this level, its roll top bath being perfect for a long soak after a day on the hills.
A staircase leads down to the two comfortable bedrooms. Both come with TVs, luxury en-suite shower rooms and glass doors to the courtyard. On a summer’s day there is nothing better than a lazy morning in bed, with the sun pouring into the room.
One of a once cobbled row of four cottages, Abbots Reading Cottage is surrounded by scenic walks enjoyed both by guests and the local wildlife. It is not uncommon to come across deer while taking a morning stroll. Lakeside itself is home to the famous Lakes Aquarium and Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly from the pier, and the views across the lake are breath-taking.
