Underfloor heating runs throughout the bedrooms and ground floor perfect for those cosy nights in. Head up the steps and make your way inside your new home-from-home to find a welcoming living/dining room with a crackling woodburning stove at its heart; unwind here on the plush blue sofa in front of the Smart TV or simply admire the views across the countryside from the floor to ceiling windows.
Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a delicious meal to enjoy around the dining table or downstairs on the patio outside, perfect for an alfresco affair. When the sky darkens over Ada’s Hideaway, head back inside to wash off the day in the ground-floor bathroom before sloping off to sleep in either the super-king-size (zip/link) with handy en-suite, the king-size or the double; all equipped with Smart TVs for lazy mornings.
If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic bolthole, head into the nearby village of Sizergh where you can stock up on all of your self-catering essentials at the local farm shop or treat your loved ones to a meal out at The Strickland Arms.
Continue north to find the iconic town of Kendal, immerse yourself in the area’s part by touring the Kendal Museum and the stunning ruins of Kendal Castle; the town also acts as a gateway to the impressive Lake District National Park.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element here thanks to the abundance of walking and hiking routes through picturesque countryside or up impressive hills including Old Man Coniston, Orrest Head and Scafell Pike; try something a little more unique by taking to the water of Lake Windermere on canoes, kayaks and even paddle boards!
