Within 45 minutes’ drive are the pretty Lakeland villages of Coniston, Hawkshead and Grasmere and Lakeside, the tip of Lake Windermere, is just eight miles away and is home to the Aquarium of the Lakes and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.
