When the weather’s warm you can sit out and relax with a good book, take a sip of your favourite tipple or make use of the barbecue facility. There is also undercover bike storage in the summerhouse if you wish to take advantage of the local cycle paths and mountain biking opportunities. Locally, there are lovely walks to be had, or venture down to the restored Somerset and Dorset railway station, where you can browse the memorabilia and treat yourselves to a cup of tea and slice of cake! Within easy reach you can explore charming Sturminster Newton, beloved by Thomas Hardy, the bustling Georgian market town of Blandford Forum, ancient Shaftesbury and historic Sherborne, with its castles and abbey. Alternatively, take your buckets and spades to the stunning Dorset Jurassic Coast. Then when evening comes, make your way back to your welcoming and cosy cottage.
